📖 This Week's Story

On Thursday evening before his death, Jesus gathered his twelve closest friends for a special meal. This is called the Last Supper — "Mystikos Dipnos" in Greek. First, Jesus did something surprising — he knelt down and washed his disciples' feet! Washing feet was a servant's job, but Jesus wanted to show them: "If I, your teacher, wash your feet, you should serve each other too." Then he took bread, broke it, and said: "This is my body." He took a cup of wine and said: "This is my blood. Do this in remembrance of me." That's why we celebrate Holy Communion (Theia Koinonia) in our church.
