📖 This Week's Story

Jesus was about 30 years old when he went to the Jordan River. His cousin John the Baptist was there, baptizing people in the water as a sign of new life. Jesus asked John to baptize him. When Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens opened! A dove came down, and God's voice said: "This is my beloved Son!" This moment is called the Baptism of Jesus — in Greek, "Vaptisi." We celebrate it on January 6th, the feast of Theophany. Many of you have been baptized too! Your vaptisi connected you to Jesus and to our church family.
