📖 This Week's Story

During Lent, we try to pray more. But prayer isn't just reciting words — it's talking to God from your heart. In the Orthodox tradition, we have a very beautiful short prayer called the Jesus Prayer: "Kyrie Iisou Christe, Yie tou Theou, eleison me" — "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me." You can shorten it to just: "Kyrie, eleison" — "Lord, have mercy." Let's try something special. Close your eyes. Breathe slowly. Say quietly in your heart: "Kyrie, eleison..." Feel how peaceful it becomes? That's what prayer does — it brings God's peace into our hearts.
